Status Update for Progress on Profile Creation and Army List Document Writing - Evil Armies [Part 2b/13]

Here is the current progress that I have made for putting together the new army lists with the updated profiles that have already been created for the missing models in WotR for Evil Armies.

Similar to what we did for the Good Armies is in the Post for Part 1/2, I will include the current progress and the lists for each document. Recall that the headers for the colored matrix include:
  • Order Correct
  • Name Correct
  • Points Correct
  • Image Correct
  • Image Text Correct
  • Stats Correct
  • Type Correct
  • Company Size Ranges Correct
  • Wargear Correct
  • Command Correct
  • Special Rules Correct
  • Updated H2Kill Rule Used
  • Monster Striking Order
  • Cavalry Striking Order
  • Cavalry Charge
  • Unique Character/Unique Weapon
  • Heroic Actions Included
  • Epic Actions Included
  • Magic Included
  • Profile Proofread
  • Borders Correct
Each cell is marked with a Red No, a Green Yes, or a Yellow N/A. If the header item hasn't been implemented or verified it is marked Red, if it is completely correct it is marked Green - and if the profile does not have any applicability to a header (i.e. the profile is not a monster or cavalry) then they are marked Yellow.

1) Mordor

Here is a close-up of the profile list on the left:

As you already know (from the previous post) Mordor's Army List is 100% complete. When finished it turned out be a 63 page document - Mostly due to the large number of Magic Casting Monsters that are included in the Army! Everything has been written and the only remaining thing to do is to create it and secure it via PDF and put it up on the downloads page.

The current completion status for the 34 profiles within Mordor: 100%

2) The Fortress of Isengard

Here is the profile list for The Fortress of Isengard:

The profiles for The Fortress of Isengard are the next closest set to be ready to be done. There are a few Legendary Formations that need to be completed - including the new Legendary Formation for Sharkey and Worm! Notice that there is also a name change for the Ruffians - to distinguish it from the Legendary Formation that is coming. I'm fairly certain that this one will be the next one to have its post put up for the purple profiles.

The current completion status for the 29 profiles within The Fortress of Isengard is: 100%

3) The Misty Mountains (Moria)

Here is the profile list for The Misty Mountains:

This Army List still has a ways to go - and has the majority of impacts for new profiles (including Smaug and Gollum, Riddler in the Dark - necessitating the name change in Mordor's Army List). Once this is done in conjunction with the Dwarf List - everyone will be pretty excited, I'm sure. Actually, it's been a while since I've done the Audit on this list ... it is actually mostly likely further along than this is indicating - because I know that Durburz and Druzhag's profiles are both complete.

The current completion status for the 26 profiles within The Misty Mountains (Moria) is: 16%

4) The Fallen Realms

Here is the profile list for The Fallen Realms:

The Army List for the Fallen Realms is complete! It has been updated with a full set of profiles that existed in SBG but had been omitted from WotR..

The current completion status for the 38 profiles within The Fallen Realms is: 100%

5) Angmar

Here is the profile list for Angmar:

This is another list that required a lot of new profile updates. The only reason that this one is so "incomplete" is just due to the fact that there are so many new profiles to be added to this Army List. The updates that have been made make Angmar a more "smart-person" type of Army ... it will require a lot of anticipation for enemy movements and puts more emphasis on the importance of Priority.

The current completion status for the 33 profiles within Angmar is: 100%.

So, there we go - keep you eyes peeled for more updates coming soon!! It is definitely getting exciting!

WotR Magic - Updates to the Rules for the Spells of Darkness [Part 5/7]

Here is the final part of updates to Magic Spell Lists for WotR. The last one in the queue is the Spells of Darkness. Ironically it is also the set that has the most changes to the text. Let's get on with it - I know that everyone is patiently waiting for the updates!

The set of magic users that have access to the Spells of Darkness are as follows:

As you would expect, the Darkness Users are all Evil (with the exception of Saruman in the Forgotten Kingdoms list - again who is still technically Evil). Also, the majority of the users are within the Mordor, Fallen Realms, and Angmar lists.

    ON WITH THE UPDATES!

Awesome! Notice that the special rules for Epic Strike and Take Aim take precedence over the Magic Spells. We will get more into this in a future post where we will discuss resolution order based upon the "epic-ness" of the special rules in effect.

Also, as an aside, I've been working hard on compiling the updates for the Hobbit and Warbands models into my Army Lists ... The Elven Kingdoms is about 95% done, Gondor & Arnor is about 75% done, and Angmar is about 70% done. Perhaps in the near future those will be available to be posted and downloaded for your pleasure and use!

Mordor Epic Heroes' Special Rules [Part 6/10]

Mordor is a fun army to analyze. There are so many heroes, with all the ringwraiths) and so much magic behind them that it really makes it hard to determine the subset of things to use when building a "reasonably sized" army. They have a nice array of augmentation abilities as well as straight up offensive capabilities - and that only adds to the fun factor of the army. Without further delay, here is the applicability list for Mordor:

So, there it is ... If we look at the applicability column, it is interesting to see that the following spread exists:
    • Only the Hero - 4/27
    • Hero's Company - 3/27
    • Hero's Formation - 10/27
    • Target Enemy - 4/27
    • All Friendly Formations within Range - 4/27
    • Target Friendly Hero - 2/27
The really cool thing about Mordor's Epic Heroes is their versatility. They have something for basically any situation. I can see why they are basically the Gondor & Arnor equivalent for Evil.

The Fallen Realms Unit Cost Analysis

We have already covered the massive beast that belongs to The Fallen Realms, The Mumak, in the post for the Ridiculously Hard to Kill rule and got to see it in action (even if it ended up dying - it was still entertaining to see it trampling and stampeding over some warriors). Let's look at the remainder of the army to determine if it is well balanced and what point adjustments would be appropriate for the warriors of the East.

    FALLEN REALMS WARRIORS

    • (R) [I] Corsair Arbalesters - Underpriced by 17%
    • (C) [I] Easterling Cohort - Underpriced by 14%
    • (C) [I] Khandish Mercenary Warband - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (R) [I] Mahud Warband - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (R) [I] Black Numenorean Regiment - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (R) [H] Morgul Knight Regiment - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (R) [M] War Mumak of Harad - Overpriced by 6%
    • (R) [MH] Khandish King Charioteer - Overpriced by 7%
    • (C) [I] Easterling Archer Cohort - Overpriced by 17%
    • (C) [H] Easterling Kataphrakt Cohort - Overpriced by 17%
    • (R) [I] Watcher Warband - Overpriced by 17%
    • (R) [M] Khandish Charioteer - Overpriced by 18%
    • (C) [I] Serpent Guard Warband - Overpriced by 20%
    • (C) [H] Serpent Rider Warband - Overpriced by 20%
    • (R) [H] Mahud Raider Warband - Overpriced by 20%
    • (L) [I] Abrakhan Guard - Overpriced by 20%
    • (C) [I] Khandish Mercenary Warband - Overpriced by 25%
    • (C) [I] Haradrim Warband - Overpriced by 25%
    • (C) [H] Haradrim Raider Warband - Overpriced by 25%
    • (C) [I] Corsair Raiding Party - Overpriced by 67%
    • (R) [I] Half Troll Warband - Overpriced by 138%
Sorting the Fallen Realms Warriors under the template from cheapest (weakest stat-wise) to most expensive (most powerful) gives:
    • 15 Points per Company:
      • (C) [I] Corsair Raiding Party
    • 20 Points per Company:
      • (C) [I] Khandish Mercenary Warband
      • (C) [I] Haradrim Warband
      • (C) [H] Haradrim Raider Warband
    • 25 Points per Company:
      • (C) [I] Serpent Guard Warband
      • (C) [H] Khandish Mercenary Raiders
      • (C) [H] Serpent Rider Warband
      • (R) [H] Mahud Raider Warband
      • (L) [I] Abrakhan Guard
    • 30 Points per Company:
      • (C) [I] Easterling Archer Cohort
      • (C) [H] Easterling Kataphrakt Cohort
      • (R) [I] Corsair Arbalesters
      • (R) [I] Mahud Warband
      • (R) [I] Watcher Warband
    • 35 Points per Company:
      • (C) [I] Easterling Cohort
      • (R) [I] Black Numenorean Regiment
      • (R) [H] Morgul Knight Regiment
    • 40 Points per Company:
      • (R) [I] Half Troll Warband
    • 85 Points per Company:
      • (R) [M] Khandish Charioteer
    • 140 Points per Company:
      • (R) [MH] Khandish King Charioteer
    • 235 Points per Company:
      • (R) [M] War Mumak of Harad

OK, this is interesting - it seems like the Fallen Realms is in the same boat as the Elves. They are absurdly overpriced and the only ones that are reasonable are rare formations - which would require a bunch of Easterlings or Khandish Mercenaries (the latter of which are all metal, of course) just to bring them along.

    FALLEN REALMS HEROES
    • (E) Khamul the Easterling - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) The Knight of Umbar - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) The Betrayer - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) The Undying - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) The Shadow Lord - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) The Dark Marshal - Underpriced by 40%
    • (E) Queen Beruthiel - Underpriced by 35%
    • (L) The Golden King - Underpriced by 23%
    • (C) Morgul Knight Commander - Underpriced by 17%
    • (C) Serpent Guard Chieftain [SRW] - Underpriced by 9%
    • (C) Black Numenorean Marshal - Underpriced by 9%
    • (E) Dalamyr, Fleetmaster of Umbar - Underpriced by 5%
    • (C) Serpent Guard Chieftain [SGW] - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (C) Dragon Knight [EC] - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (C) Dragon Knight [EKC] - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
    • (E) Suladan, the Serpent Lord - Overpriced by 7%
    • (C) Haradrim Chieftain [HRW] - Overpriced by 11%
    • (C) Khandish Chieftain [KMR] - Overpriced by 11%
    • (C) Easterling Captain [EC] - Overpriced by 11%
    • (C) Easterling Captain [EKC] - Overpriced by 11%
    • (C) Captain of Kataphrakts [EKC] - Overpriced by 11%
    • (C) Haradrim Chieftain [HW] - Overpriced by 25%
    • (C) Hasharin [SGW] - Overpriced by 25%
    • (C) Corsair Captain [CA] - Overpriced by 25%
    • (E) Amdur, Lord of Blades - Overpriced by 32%
    • (C) Corsair Bo'sun [CRP] - Overpriced by 43%
    • (C) Mahud Chieftain [MW] - Overpriced by 43%
    • (C) Mahud Chieftain [MRW] - Overpriced by 43%
    • (C) Easterling War Priest [EC] - Overpriced by 54%
    • (C) Easterling War Priest [EAC] - Overpriced by 54%
    • (C) Easterling War Priest [EKC] - Overpriced by 54%
    • (C) Corsair Captain [CRP] - Overpriced by 67%
    • (C) Khandish Chieftain [KMW] - Overpriced by 67%
OK, looks like cheap Epic Heroes for the Fallen Realms - but to bring along a command hero is anything but cost effective. The good news is that we've seen this before, and it gets easily corrected with the template. Sorting by the cost calculated by the template from cheapest (weakest stat-wise) to most expensive (most powerful):
    • Heroes that should cost 30 Points:
      • (C) Corsair Captain [CRP]
      • (C) Khandish Chieftain [KMW]
    • Heroes that should cost 35 Points:
      • (C) Dragon Knight [EC]
      • (C) Dragon Knight [EKC]
      • (C) Corsair Bo'sun [CRP]
      • (C) Mahud Chieftain [MW]
      • (C) Mahud Chieftain [MRW]
    • Heroes that should cost 40 Points:
      • (C) Haradrim Chieftain [HW]
      • (C) Hasharin [HW]
      • (C) Hasharin [SGW]
      • (C) Corsair Captain [CA]
    • Heroes that should cost 45 Points:
      • (C) Haradrim Chieftain [HRW]
      • (C) Khandish Chieftain [KMR]
      • (C) Easterling Captain [EC]
      • (C) Easterling Captain [EAC]
      • (C) Captain of Kataphrakts [EKC]
    • Heroes that should cost 50 Points:
      • (C) Serpent Guard Chieftain [SGW]
    • Heroes that should cost 55 Points:
      • (C) Serpent Guard Chieftain [SRW]
      • (C) Black Numenorean Marshal
    • Heroes that should cost 60 Points:
      • (C) Morgul Knight Commander
    • Heroes that should cost 65 Points:
      • (C) Easterling War Priest [EC]
      • (C) Easterling War Priest [EAC]
      • (C) Easterling War Priest [EKC]
      • (L) The Golden King
    • Heroes that should cost 105 Points:
      • (E) Dalamyr, Fleetmaster of Umbar
    • Heroes that should cost 125 Points:
      • (E) Amdur, Lord of Blades
    • Heroes that should cost 140 Points:
      • (E) Suladan, the Serpent Lord
    • Heroes that should cost 155 Points:
      • (E) Queen Beruthiel
    • Heroes that should cost 210 Points:

      • (E) The Knight of Umbar
      • (E) The Betrayer
      • (E) The Undying

      Angmar Unit Cost Analysis

Angmar is a very interesting army. It almost seems like an afterthought to Mordor and is intended to be a fluff army in order to use models that are already created but didn't fit thematically into the other Evil army lists. I think the equivalent on the Good side would be The Forgotten Kingdoms - but that has a lot more uniqueness to that army - separate from the other Good Armies. In fact, it is curious that 60% of the common formations are basically copies of other army's formations ... and 100% of the Epic Heroes are from Mordor.
      • (C) [I] Ghostly Legion = Warriors of the Dead (Gondor & Arnor)
      • (C) [H] Ghostly Riders =  Riders of the Dead (Gondor & Arnor)
      • (C) [I] Spectral Host [Unique to Angmar]
      • (C) [I] Carn Dum Warband = Dunlending Huscarls (The Fortress of Isengard [Not identical but very similar])
      • (C) [I] Angmar Orc Warband = Mordor Orc Warband = Isengard Orc Warband
      • (C) [I] Court of Fallen Kings [Unique to Angmar]
Also, why is the Necromancer not part of the Angmar army? Another thing is … almost all the formations have the We Stand Alone special rule - so the Epic Heroes cannot join but only 3/7 formation types! It just seems like a lot is missing a lot. I guess the only option is to use them as an Ally Army (as called out for The Forgotten Kingdoms on pages 85 & 86) for other Evil armies. Enough musing - let's get on with it!

      ANGMAR WARRIORS

      Keys:
      (C) = Common Formation, (R) = Rare Formation, (L) = Legendary Formation
      [I] = Infantry, [H] = Cavalry, [A] = Artillery, [M] = Monster, [MH] = Monster Hero
      • (L) [MH] Buhrdur - Underpriced by 29%
      • (C) [I] Carn Dum Warband - Underpriced by 25%
      • (L) [MH] Gulavhar, the Terror of Arnor - Underpriced by 2%
      • (C) [I] Ghostly Legion - Overpriced by 20%
      • (C) [H] Ghostly Riders - Overpriced by 20%
      • (C) [I] Angmar Orc Warband - Overpriced by 50%
      • (R) [M] Shade - Overpriced by 54%
      • (C) [I] Spectral Host - Overpriced by 78%
      • (R) [I] Court of Fallen Kings - Overpriced by 85%
      • (R) [I] Werewolf Pack - Overpriced by 85%
Applying the template from cheapest (weakest stat-wise) to most expensive (most powerful) gives the following. Of course, the Legendary Monster Heroes are at the bottom where they should be.
      • 10 Points per Company:
        • (C) [I] Angmar Orc Warband
      • 40 Points per Company:
        • (C) [I] Carn Dum Warband
      • 45 Points per Company:
        • (C) [I] Spectral Host
      • 50 Points per Company:
        • (C) [I] Ghostly Legion
        • (C) [H] Ghostly Riders
      • 65 Points per Company:
        • (R) [I] Court of Fallen Kings
        • (R) [M] Shade
        • (R) [I] Werewolf Pack
      • 175 Points:
        • (L) [MH] Buhrdur
      • 205 Points:
        • (L) [MH] Gulavhar, the Terror of Arnor
GULAVHAR'S SWOOP ATTACK FOR BEING A FLYING MONSTER HERO

Just as we talked about the Eagle in the Forgotten Kingdoms army list - it makes sense for any Flying Monster to have the Swoop Attack Special Rule. I have included this in the profile cost for Gulavhar provided above.

      BUHRDUR'S EPIC STRENGTH SPECIAL RULE

Similar to the Epic Strike special rule that several Epic Heroes have, Buhrdur has the special rule for Epic Strength. As we have shown in previous posts when doing the analysis for Hero profiles:
      • Strength = +/- 5 points per value point
      • Special Rules = +/- 10 points per spell, special rule, or epic action
Using these two point values logically together:

      Epic Strength = Special Rule = +10 Points = 2*(+5 Points) = 2* (+1 Strength)

There we have it ... Epic Strength is a 10 point special rule, so the equivalent Strength Value boost for that would be an increase of 2 Strength Value Points.

Epic Strength will increase the Strength Value of a Hero by +2 to a maximum of 10. Furthermore, if there are other special rules that have taken effect (even after Epic Strength has been applied) the minimum that a Epic Hero's Strength Value with Epic Strength applied can be reduced to is 2 (0 + 2).

      ANGMAR HEROES

      Key: (C) = Command Hero, (L) = Legendary Hero, (E) = Epic Hero
      • (C) Ghostly Captain GL - Underpriced by 41%
      • (C) Ghostly Captain GR - Underpriced by 41%
      • (E) The Dwimmerlaik - Underpriced by 40%
      • (E) The Tainted - Underpriced by 40%
      • (E) The Witch-king - Underpriced by 15%
      • (C) Barbarian Chieftain - Accurately Priced (0% deviation)
      • (C) Angmar Shaman - Overpriced by 33%
      • (C) Orc Captain - Overpriced by 43%
Sorting by the cost calculated by the template from cheapest (weakest stat-wise) to most expensive (most powerful):
      • Heroes that should cost 35 Points:
        • (C) Orc Captain
      • Heroes that should cost 50 Points:
        • (C) Barbarian Chieftain
      • Heroes that should cost 75 Points:
        • (C) Angmar Shaman
      • Heroes that should cost 85 Points:
        • (C) Ghostly Captain GL
        • (C) Ghostly Captain GR
      • Heroes that should cost 210 Points:
        • (E) The Dwimmerlaik
        • (E) The Tainted
      • Heroes that should cost 235 Points:
        • (E) The Witch-King

Mordor Unit Cost Analysis & the "Monster Hero" Baseline Profile

Next up is Mordor - My initial suspect is that it will be similar to Gondor & Arnor, since it appears that those two armies were intentionally created to face-off one against another. In fact, I think that there may have been pairs like that across the development of several of the Armies. When playing against their "opposite Army", games are "fairly" well balanced for the original points, but the breakdown occurs when you step outside of those pairing since the stat lines are not normalized across all Armies (as we are attempting to do here). I also noticed that Mordor has A LOT of WarMachines - so I would suspect that a typical fielded Mordor Army would include multiple WarMachines (interestingly the Good Army that has a lot of WarMachines is The Forgotten Kingdoms with Ents [the good version of Trolls], Eagles [the good version of Nazgul], & Special Formations).

Also, with Mordor we have a new Baseline Profile that we have not yet encountered (I lied, there is already a Monster Hero profile already in the Isengard's post) ... the "Monster Hero". Typically profiles with Might have been only the Hero Profile that have no stat line entries for Ballistic Skill, Strength, Defense, & Attack; so it seems that the "Monster Hero" is a little bit like a Warrior and a little bit like a Command Hero. The way to identify the "Monster Hero" is that they are not a Command or Legendary Hero, but rather their own formation - and they still have Might.

It looks like the base profile for a "Monster Hero" character in War of the Ring is:

       6/7/10  |   6   | 3 |  4 | 3 |  3 |  8 | 1 |  3  |  0  |  0  |     0     |   0

      Key:
      • Cst = Baseline Cost of the "Monster Hero"
        • 6 = Rank and File Hero ... Equivalent of a Command Hero
          • Examples: Mordor Troll Chieftain, Isengard Troll Chieftain, & Spider Queen
        • 7 = Lesser Named Hero ... Equivalent of a Legendary Hero + 1
          • Examples: Glorfindel, Lord of the West; Quickbeam; Beechbone; Tom Bombadil; Shelob; & Dragon of Ancient Times
        • 10 = Big Named Hero ... Equivalent of an Epic Hero
          • Examples: Treebeard; The Three Hunters; Gwairhir; The Fellowship of the Ring; The White Council; Council of Wizardry; The Necromancer of Dol Guldur; The Nine are Abroad; Winged Nazgul; The Balrog of Morgoth; Buhrdur; & Gulavhar, the Terror of Arnor
      • Mv = Move value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 0 .. INF]
      • F = Fight value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 10]
      • B = Ballistic value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 6]
      • S = Strength value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 10]
      • D = Defense value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 10]
      • A = Attack value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 10]
      • R = Resistance value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 4]
      • C = Courage value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 1 .. 10]
      • Mt = Might value of the "Monster Hero" [Range: 0 .. INF]
      • Ar = Armor level of the "Monster Hero"
        • 0 = No Armor
        • 1 = Light/Standard Armor (Typically called "armour" in a profile and provides a +1 bonus to the Defense Value for the company in a formation)
        • 2 = Heavy Armor (Typically called "heavy armour" in a profile and provides a +2 bonus to the Defense Value for the company in a formation)
        • 3 = Special Named Heavy Armor (Sometimes called something special, like "mithril-forged heavy armour" for Hurin within the Wardens of the Keys; provides a +3 bonus to the Defense value for the company in a formation)
      • XWpn = Extra weapons that are equipped for the company in a formation
        • 0 = Hand Weapon only
        • 1+ = Any other additional wargear listed within the profile (i.e., If a profile, like Minas Tirith Archers, has "Each company has hand weapons, heavy armor and bows" this would imply that the number of extra weapons would be 1 ... 0 for the hand weapon and 1 for the bows. For the Knights of Dol Amroth: "Each company has hand weapons, heavy armour, shields and lances", this would imply they would have Ar = 2 and Xwpn = 2; 0 for the hand weapon, 1 for the shields and 2 for the lances.)
      • SpR = Magic Spells, Epic Actions & Special rules that are assigned specifically to the "Monster Hero"
        • For all heroes, regardless of level, it appears that Heroic Actions are not counted as special rules - and are effectively free
          • 0 = At the Double!, Heroic Move, Heroic Shoot, Heroic Charge, Heroic Fight & Heroic Duel (see pages 64-67 of the rules manual for details)
        • For "Monster Heroes" this value will always be the total count of Magic Spells, Epic Actions & Special rules that are assigned to the hero
          • 0 = No magic spells, epic actions or special rules (only Heroic Actions)
          • +1 for each magic spell (not discipline) and Mastery Level above 1, epic action or special rule available to the profile
When "Monster Hero" profiles are created it seems that statistics adjust the cost up or down by a set number of points:
      • Move = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 6
      • Fight = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 3
      • Ballistic = -/+ 5 points per value point above or below 4
      • Strength = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 3
      • Defense = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 3
      • Attacks = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 8
      • Resistance = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 1
      • Courage = +/- 5 points per value point above or below 3
      • Might = +/- 10 points per value point above 0
      • Armor Value = +/- 5 points per armor level
      • Extra Weapons = +/- 10 points per extra weapon
      • Special Rules = +/- 10 points per spell, mastery level of 2 or greater, special rule, or epic action
      COST OF MONSTER HERO PROFILE = {[(Cst)*5]+[(Mv-6)*5]+[(F-3)*5]+[(B-4)*-5]+[(S-3)*5]+[(D-3)*5]+[(A-8)*5]+[(R-1)*5]+[(C-3)*5]+[(Mt)*10]+[(Ar)*5]+[(XWpn)*10]+[(SpR)*10]}

      Example:

Based upon the profile for the "Monster Hero" Shelob:
      • Cst = 7
      • Mv = 8
      • F = 7
      • B = 5
      • S = 7
      • D = 8
      • A = 4
      • R = 2
      • C = 5
      • Mt = 3
      Wargear: "Vicious mandibles (hand weapons)."
      • Ar = 0 (The Wargear entry has nothing related to Armor.)
      • XWpn = 0 (The Wargear entry gives: 0 for the hand weapon.)
      • SpR = 7 (The Special Rules have "Ambusher, Hard to Kill!, Pathfinder (Master), Prowler, Terror, Envenomed Bite, Hunter's Pounce" listed.)
Plugging all this into the equation gives:

      COST OF MONSTER HERO PROFILE = {[(7)*5]+[(8-6)*5]+[(7-3)*5]+[(5-4)*-5]+[(7-3)*5]+[(8-3)*5]+[(4-8)*5]+[(2-1)*5]+[(5-3)*5]+[(3)*10]+[(0)*5]+[(0)*10]+[(7)*10]}

      = {[35]+[(2)*5]+[(4)*5]+[(1)*-5]+[(4)*5]+[(5)*5]+[(-4)*5]+[(1)*5]+[(2)*5]+[30]+[0]+[0]+[70]}
      = {[35]+[10]+[20]+[-5]+[20]+[25]+[-20]+[5]+[10]+[30]+[0]+[0]+[70]}
      = 200

This gives 200 Points for Shelob's profile.

Oh, this is interesting ... Apparently using big name Epic Heroes with Nazgul and the Necromancer would be a cheap way under the existing rule set to have a formidable Mordor force! Sorting by the cost calculated by the template from cheapest (weakest stat-wise) to most expensive (most powerful):
      • Heroes that should cost 35 Points:
        • (C) Orc Captain MOW
